2024: A Year of Bold Moves and Big Wins

Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, we’re excited to reflect on the incredible achievements of the TELUS Local Content team in 2024. From TELUS STORYHIVE to TELUS originals, this past year has been filled with bold moves and big wins. Thank you to our TELUS STORYHIVE community—filmmakers, digital creators, live streamers, video podcasters, partners and Optik TV customers—for a year filled with creativity, growth and inspiring storytelling. Here’s a look at what we achieved together.

In 2024, we: 

• Launched and selected the Project Leads for the inaugural Video Podcast program and Scripted Edition 

• Engaged 738 community members across eight dynamic STORYHIVE programs

• Mobilized 5,129 community volunteers through our funded projects, contributing over 136,000 hours to support content creation

• Premiered 54 Indigenous films and 93 local series on TELUS Optik TV, Stream+ and STORYHIVE’s YouTube channel

• Captured over 450 hyper-local TELUS STORYHIVE On Location interviews, totalling more than 500 hours of content across B.C. and Alberta communities

• Provided over 610 training sessions, including partnerships with Empowered Filmmaker and Reel Youth
