Damien Eagle Bear
Nitsitapii. Amateur physicist. Frybread eating machine. Damien “Buddy” Eagle Bear is a storyteller hailing from Kainai of the Blackfoot Confederacy in southern Alberta but currently resides in Syilx territory in central BC. Damien has worked as a freelance filmmaker specializing in short documentaries and educational films for Indigenous organizing exploring traditional knowledges and contemporary issues. His first short film "Napi" is an experimental short documentary that explores the importance of storytelling through the hijinks of the Blackfoot trickster. In 2012 Napi opened the 37th American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco. He is currently producing two projects with funding from the National Screen Institute's IndigiDocs program and Telefilm's Talent to Watch Program.
