Leigh Joseph

My name is Leigh Joseph and my ancestral name is styawat. I am a member of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) First Nations and I am currently living in the traditional territory of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in in Dawson City, Yukon. I am an ethnobotanist by training. Ethnobotany is the study of the interrelationships between people and plants. The field of ethnobotany combines botany, ecology, traditional ecological knowledge as well as approaches to creating healthy ways of living and connections to the land.
