Since moving to Vancouver in late 2014 from Southern Ontario, a chain of events has shaped my life. Skateboarding has opened up various types of opportunities to meet people which led me to some of the greatest moments one could ask for. In addition, meeting new people resulted in me teaching English in Japan for 8 months. Being secluded from people who speak your mother tongue, that was a challenging experience, which lead me to really question my efficacy as someone being able to learn and adapt. After returning to Vancouver my friends told me I seemed different from when I left. I got a job at a restaurant, went through culture shock all over again, and then secured my place back in society. that was in 2016, since then I enrolled in Simon Fraser University and am now studying English.
