Misha Maseka

Misha Maseka is a writer, director and musician. Studying opera performance at the University of Lethbridge took her to performing opera in Germany for a season. Realizing her love for storytelling was more expansive, she returned to Alberta to develop her skills as a writer, working on small film projects with Media Mountain and regularly songwriting with musicians from BC and Alberta. Growing up, she was heavily involved in the arts, singing in competitions and festivals in her community and the rest of Alberta. Interning for Square One Media, she toured coast to coast Canada, for nine months as a performer and speaker. Focussing on film has broadened her goals to make the small, unseen stories of the African diaspora big and on display.
