Caelan MacKenzie

Caelan MacKenzie is a film-maker, actor, musician, mountain-biker, and founder of Alternative Detox, a musical movement. He graduated from W.J. Mouat Secondary in 2023. He was the Valedictorian of his grad class and the senior film student of the year. He was awarded a $1250 scholarship for a 100 hour project initiative in which he wrote, directed, edited and produced a 20 minute short film. Caelan graduated from the documentary certificate program and lighting for film program at Capilano University. He makes documentaries that explore themes of environmentalism, freedom and complex characters. His 10 minute documentary "Spira" follows the life of world renowned painter Maurice Spira and has received praise in the Sunshine Coast News. “Comparison is the death of joy.” -Winston Churchill
