On Location 2026

Kickstart your online presence, jumpstart your broadcasting journey and showcase your community with the TELUS STORYHIVE 2026 On Location program. Focused on live streaming community stories, STORYHIVE On Location will be an intensive 10-month program where crews from different regions receive microgrants, equipment, training, post production and distribution support on TELUS Optik TV, Stream+ and STORYHIVE’s YouTube channel. Your City, Your Coverage. It’s time to go live!

Program Dates
• Applications open: June 9, 2026 at 9:00 am PT
• Reddit AMA: June 15-19, 2026
• Applications close: July 7, 2026 at 11:59 pm PT
• Only selected candidates will be contacted for an interview
• Selected applicants will begin onboarding on September 2026
• Production starts: October 2026

Each project must include episodic, locally reflective live streamed content. All projects must have synchronized audio and live video shot over YouTube.

Details
• Number of episodes per month will be allocated and vary by region and individual creator
• Live streams have a runtime of 1 hour each.
• Each live stream is cut down to a 30 minute version for TELUS Optik TV On Demand
• TELUS will provide post-production through a dedicated editing team that will re-edit your content with your input

Examples of live streams
• Interview a business, artist, non-profit or personality in your community
• Cover a festival, event, farmer's market, donation drive or workshop
• Showcase a hobby with a friend, and help your community discover something new!

• Please read the Submission Rules & FAQs.
• Please sign up on STORYHIVE and create your STORYHIVE creator profile or simply log in if you already have an account.
• Please review the application to determine all of the materials you will need to submit. NOTE - You do not need to submit everything at the same time (Click "Save application" to save your work as you go). We recommend that you start your application early and submit it at least 24 hours before the deadline to avoid last-minute snags. If your completed application is not submitted by the deadline, it will not be eligible for funding.
