Edition: Three-Part Docuseries 2026

STORYHIVE Three-Part Docuseries Edition is offering new and emerging filmmakers $20,000 in production funding to produce a locally reflective three-part documentary series. In addition to the funding, selected projects will also receive mentorship from the National Screen Institute and distribution on TELUS Optik TV, Stream+ and the STORYHIVE YouTube channel.

If you're looking to develop your episodic documentary storytelling skills and explore a locally reflective subject in greater depth, this edition provides the support and platform to bring your vision to life and share it with your community.

Program Dates

Applications open: March 31, 2026, 9:00 AM PT
Applications close: May 14, 2026, 11:59 PM PT
Recipients announced: Sep 16, 2026, 12:00 PM (noon) PT
Production starts: Oct 20, 2026
Production ends: Dec 13, 2027

Project Requirements

Each STORYHIVE 2026 Three-Part Docuseries Edition project will consist of a three episode locally reflective documentary Main Program (minimum 15 minutes per episode) plus two episodes of locally reflective interview-based Bonus Content (minimum 15 minutes per episode) . • Please review the application to determine all of the materials you will need to submit.

• NOTE: You do not need to submit everything at the same time (Click "Save application" to save your work as you go). We recommend that you start your application early and submit it at least 24 hours before the deadline to avoid last minute snags. If your completed application is not submitted by the deadline, it will not be eligible for funding.
